Chapter one
So, this is my first blog and after ( and during ) my mission of getting
Corbyn (a.k.a. "The Crying Boy" ) his forever family. I will be bouncing back and forth between the last few years as my heart has "grown three sizes and more" and how these orphans have truly changed my life ! I have the privilege of being Corbyns Angel Tree Warrior which means I have pledged to raise $1000 before Christmas and in the process, getting Corbyns face out there where, hopefully forever families will find him ! Corbyn has been nicknamed the "crying boy" because whenever a family goes to his orphanage to get their forever child, he greets them tearfully to ask them to bring him home also.

Chapter one
So, this is my first blog and after ( and during ) my mission of getting

Let me start of with explaining how this blog will go. I am a Christian ! I
believe in Jesus and talk to God ! But I also believe we put too much pressure
on both. Yes I pray and yes I have seen amazing results from massive prayers,
but have also seen prayers not answered . I have seen these children join their
forever family's but also see the ones left behind. Let's just say I do not have
it all figured out and therefore although there will be prayers I will not be
pressuring my God to help. He loves Corbyn and hopefully I am part of His plan.
Now I have the ultimate pleasure of introducing Corbyn whom I pray will NOT be an orphan this time next year! Corbyn is 5 , has HIV, and is from Eastern
Europe. In Eastern Europe when A child is born with SN ( special needs) the
parents are encouraged to give the child up to the orphanages partly due to
social issues and the fact that the country does not have the programs in place
to help the families raise these wonderful children to their full potential .
Now we all know HIV is very manageable and here in the USA, Corbyn would lead a full, wonderful life, but if he stays where he is at, he will be destined for a
life without love ! I spoke to a mother who adopted her daughter three years ago and here is what she said .
"We adopted our daughter from Ukraine 3 years ago and she is LIVING with HIV!!! Our experience over there was not so much that they didn't care for HIV + children, but that they don't have the resources or education. Ignorance often brings fear. In the US children with HIV have a better life expectancy than a
child with diabetes. Our daughter is the healthiest of all my children. Children have to be on medication daily with strict compliance for them to stay health. It is a totally manageable virus, with hope that a cure will be developed soon."
Once a child with SN reaches the age of 6 or 7, they are transferred to
either an adult mental institution or an internat from the orphanage they have
grown up in which are called "Baby Houses" . Children with Down Syndrome (DS), Cerebral Palsy (CP), or any other physical delays get sent at that young age to the adult mental institutions where they will likely stay for the rest of their lives unless a family saves them.
At the baby house and then....
Corbyn will be a little luckier and will get sent with the other children with
HIV , Fetal Alcohol Spectrum (FAS), and some mental delays to an internat . When I say "luckier", that is a TOTAL overstatement !
The adult mental institutions are exactly what you are thinking, times 25
times worse ! A internat is a boarding school for orphans where children with
HIV, FAS, and other delays are ostracized and put at the bottom of the
orphanage pecking order. They stay in the internat until they are 16 then are
let loose out to the world with the clothes on their backs . Of these Children 90% of them will end up homeless , in prostitution , drug dealing, and other crimes.

Since the first time " my heart grew three sizes and more " I have witnessed children being rescued from the Baby houses , mental institutions, and the internats. The results in these children once they learn they are loved and in a family is amazing! .The families that raise and pay the ransom to save these children go through so many sacrifices other then just monetary . I will go through that more with my following posts in here. Once you commit to a child you would have already gone through home studies and tons of paper work. Then you are at the mercy of a foreign country's courts and laws waiting for travel dates to get your child home. Then there is 6-8 weeks in country. Sometimes in one trip. Sometimes it takes many trips. All while the waiting child's new siblings are at home missing mom and dad and mom and dad are missing milestones like first dates, school recitals, holidays , and more. I am in complete awe of these wonderful families!
I am sure some of you are still wondering "Why not adopt in this country" I
thought the same thing when I first found out about these children, but it
didn't take long for me to totally understand. Some of you are wondering how I, Jenni Pinard got involved in this. My following posts will explain the first time "my heart grew three sizes and more" and how it grew that much and
more many times after that! Stay tuned for Chapter two : " The Moniers"!

He's so beautiful. I can totally see him fitting in with my kids. Praying God works on my husband's heart if we are meant to adopt and will convict us both. Still waffling myself and praying, so we will see. If we get a "go!" I'd snatch him up in a heartbeat :)
